Hello friends,
It is with many memories and deep feelings that we inform you of the decision the pageant board and myself have made over the course of the past year. Summer of 2013 will mark the end of Miss Right to Life of Georgia Scholarship & Benefit Pageant for the foreseeable future.
It has become clear to us that this chapter of our journey, initiated by the Lord, is drawing to a close. While we mourn the end of this chapter we also rejoice in nearly 5 years of ministry and volunteerism of our precious girls. It has been a wonderful road, but a lot of work. The friends, memories, and lives changed as a result of hearing the truth of God’s love and the fact that we all deserve the right to life have sustained myself and the pageant board through several years and miles.
For those of you who know us well, this is not a “pageant breakup”. In fact, we will continue to plan volunteer events throughout the year on a smaller scale in the future. After several years of working so closely together, the pageant board and myself have become like sisters who love each other dearly. There is not a single variable that has initiated this decision; rather it seems as if the same sovereign hands that have guided us together for this chapter are now leading each of us in different directions. We are forever grateful for the role Miss Right to Life of Georgia played in our lives. The encouragement and support we have received from fellow pro-lifers have carried us through thick and thin. We are at peace with our decision, and hope that all who have loved and supported this organization throughout the years find the same closure.
We have always wanted to finish the right way. We believe that means finishing together, as a sisterhood. This is why we still plan to finish out the pageant season into the summer, and are still currently planning two more events between now and the next several months, as well as a special banquet for all reigning queens, princesses, and their families to celebrate a wonderful year of service. We will keep all who are interested posted as plans solidify.
Again, thank you for your prayers and support.
FOR LIFE!
